“Food tastes better when you eat it with your family.”
As the story goes a couple who had just moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2002 were walking their dog when he jumped into the lap of a complete stranger drinking tea at an outdoor café. The dog owners apologized and the three began talking. Later they went to dinner and it was a very memorable meal and experience for the three who later opened a restaurant together: The Kitchen. The idea was to have a place that felt homey where everyone sat at large “kitchen” tables and enjoyed the meal as well as the company. All of the food is organically grown and the restaurant is committed to environmentally friendly practices.
As the conclusion to a very memorable evening, tonight I had dinner at The Kitchen Next Door on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado. I had the beet burger and arugula salad with garlic fries. DELICIOUS!!! Older Charming and Also Handsome Son is vegetarian so we often try out new food. I happen to love beets and used to be vegan for many, many years…but I’ve never had a “veggie” burger made of beets. Loved it! And the garlic fries = heaven.
