“What you take from the earth, you must give back. That’s nature’s way.
Chris d’Lacey, The Fire Within

My First today was to visit Garden of the Gods, a National Natural Historic Park located in Colorado Springs. The sandstone rock formations are breathtakingly beautiful and it is completely free and open to the public. Charles Elliott Perkins purchased the land as part of his private summer homestead in the 1800’s. He wanted the public to enjoy the beauty of the land so after he died, his children conveyed the land to the city on the condition that it shall remain free for the public to enjoy. Yay us!

We visited Manitou Springs after enjoying the beauty of the Garden of the Gods. The natural mineral water of Manitou Springs is sacred, healing water. It doesn’t taste so good, though.
