April 13 Mandala Art Therapy

“The great man is he who does not lose his child’s heart.” Mencius

A mandala is a symbol. The word means “circle” in sanskrit, it represents wholeness. Feeling a little disconnected today, I decided that Mandala Art Therapy was just the thing to center my mind and heart. I’m sure you’ve seen the Adult Coloring Books that seem to be everywhere boasting stress relief. I decided to try it for the first time today.

The intricate designs of the mandala are said to absorb the mind to the extent that irritations and stresses are effectively blocked. This allows the mind to achieve a higher state of consciousness. If that fails, just color the pretty pictures.

I put on a relaxing playlist, pulled out my pencils and got to work on my higher consciousness.

$3 each at Target. Gotta love the “Dollar Spot”!
