“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” William Arthur Ward
I set out to learn three new words today and I chose from a list of about 100 or so. Randomly. Even though I chose the words completely at random, they all had to do with the same topic: teaching. Interesting. But what does it mean? I enjoyed this First precisely because of the connection that all of vocabulary words shared today.
- Pedagogy: the art or science of teaching; education; instructional methods
- Erudite: characterized by great knowledge; learned or scholarly
- Didactic: intended for instruction; instructive
Use those three in a sentence. It doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch, they are all about the same thing: teaching, knowledge, instructing. Hmmm…
