November 6 The Chair

“If you can’t learn to do it well, you should learn to enjoy doing it badly.”

Have you ever tried to sew something fun and creative like a simple slip cover for your son’s comfy chair and ottoman only to discover that your sewing machine was flipping out and inoperable? Yeah, I know. Me too. This is a common thing, right? So you borrow your mom’s sewing machine and hers flips out too? No? Never happened to you? You should try it. It makes a one hour project take all day and completely wears out your patience and faith in humanity. I will refurbish this chair and ottoman, if it’s the last thing I do.

This is the in-between stage. It’s not fitted and sewn properly yet because the machine isn’t working. My son picked out his own fabric. Pretty cool, huh?
