“When I was five years old my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy”. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, I told them they didn’t understand life.”
I went back to high school today. My son’s high school. There was a Thanksgiving Luncheon for parents and students. They served the usual Thanksgiving fare and it was a very nice luncheon. However, we did not eat in the Cafeteria, we went to the Art room. I guess this is the “cool” place to eat lunch, way cooler than the Caf. All of the artsy kids were there and I felt very honored that my son allowed me to be there among his friends. Feeling thankful that I have a sweet, thoughtful, compassionate child who takes the time to eat lunch with the less popular kid who doesn’t have a lot of friends, even when that “kid” is his mom.
