December 10 Light Among The Ruins – Jemez Pueblo

Jemez Pueblo Luminaria Lighting at The Ruins

In New Mexico, the luminarias lighting up the night sky are a tradition. The ruins of Giusewa Pueblo and San Jose de los Jemez Mission Church were decorated with hundreds of luminarias tonight. It was a beautiful way to kick off the holiday season. It was COLD but I enjoyed the Native American dances and really appreciated the firepits that they provided. Free wagon rides, cookies and cocoa. If you are in New Mexico in December, you can’t miss this!

Close up of the ruins. I wish it wasn’t so dark so you could see how beautiful it all looked. You’ll just have to go there for yourself!
